Location:
Edge of a main city
Controlled
Large gang
Situation
Several adjacent buildings were being used for illicit activities; the most distant structure functioned as a child brothel. Inside were twelve girls, approximately 9–12 years old. They showed clear signs of neglect and abuse: severely limited food (often only a cup of rice per day), inadequate hygiene (washed outdoors with a hose), and no access to proper sanitary facilities.
Plan
A coordinated response was organized involving trained volunteers, local partners, and the appropriate authorities and child-protection services. The response prioritized the safety and dignity of the children and aimed to minimize further trauma. Key elements of the plan included:
- Gathering intelligence on daily routines and staffing so the response could be timed to maximize safety.
- Briefing and coordinating with law enforcement and child-welfare agencies to ensure legal custody, evidence preservation, and immediate protective measures.
- Assigning female responders to provide comfort and privacy to the children during extraction and transport.
- Arranging secure, pre-identified locations (safe houses) and medical/psychological support for immediate triage and care.
- Ensuring that any individuals responsible for crimes would be handled by law enforcement and referred for prosecution through proper legal channels.
Execution
The response was carried out in coordination with authorities and partner agencies. The twelve children were recovered from the site and transported to safe houses where they received prompt medical attention, nourishment, clean clothing, and psychological support. All children arrived safely and are now in the care of child-protection professionals while legal processes proceed.
