Location: The target building was located in a shanty town within a major city, situated directly on a main street. It had a single entrance and exit, which was guarded by one individual. The operation was complicated by the fact that the local police were complicit with the local gang that controlled the area. The building was surrounded by dense makeshift homes, and the only viable escape route was the main street and its connecting side alleys.

Situation: The situation involved 8 female children between the ages of 10 and 13 who were in poor condition and would likely need medical attention. The plan was initiated after dark. Volunteer spotters were positioned on rooftops to provide over watch of both the target location and the escape route. A four person security team swept the immediate area to ensure no police or gang members were present. The escape route was monitored for any hostile activity, referred to as “shadows.”

Plan: Guard put to sleep. Three vehicles moved in for the extraction. A two person female team, fluent in the local language, entered the building to gather the girls, give them a quick explanation of what was happening, and lead them out. The subjects were then transported to a pre arranged safe house, with security teams providing lead and trail protection. A nurse was waiting at the safe house to administer immediate medical care before the children were moved to their final destination.

Executed: The extraction was completed in a total of eight minutes. The girls were found to be malnourished and had wounds that required treatment; some of these injuries would need more extensive care once they were out of the city. The move to the safe house was conducted without any incident. After receiving medical treatment and food, all subjects were cleared for travel and successfully relocated to their new home.
